Situated in the Tenleytown neighborhood in Washington, D.C., 4000 Albemarle St. NW is a coworking space designed to meet the needs of aspiring writers and professionals in the publishing field. Specifically, the open concept of the space gives the sense of a community with one goal in mind — to drive as much focus and inspiration as possible to produce thought-provoking articles, books, dissertations and plays. The D.C. Writers Room property opened in 2012 and, since then, it has aimed to provide a quiet and visionary environment that nurtures literary success.
Notably, the best aspect about the space is that you won’t face any distractions during your writing process because phones are restricted from the area. However, members can access lockers where they can leave personal belongings on a first-come, first-served basis. A kitchenette is also available on-site, where you can have a quick lunch or prepare some food. Members also have unlimited access to coffee and tea to keep their creative juices going. Of course, the strong Wi-Fi connection will allow you to stay in touch with the outside world and surf the internet for inspiration or research for your paper. There’s also a printer on-site if members need a hard copy of their writing or to scan materials.
The DC Writers Room is located in the top suite of the building and features large windows on all sides to allow for natural light and a comfortable atmosphere. The building is also located across from the Tenleytown Metro, making it easy to access for members who use public transportation. You can also easily walk to the destination, use a bike or access the site by car. There’s also free parking on the nearby streets or you can use the two- or four-hour parking meters. Finally, the coworking space is open 24/7, allowing writers to access the site whenever inspiration strikes them.

For spontaneous collaboration and interaction, open desks provide an open and flexible environment. If you prefer a dedicated space with shared community elements, dedicated desks offer a great balance between personal space and interaction.
On the other hand, private offices are best suited for focused work and private interactions. They're ideal for solo workers as well as teams seeking a dedicated space, shielded from distractions.
Choosing the ideal coworking arrangement for you is about aligning your workspace with your work style, team dynamics, and project requirements.
