Hospitality-focused coworking provider The Malin recently announced the opening of its first workplace in Texas, marking the brand’s sixth location nationwide. Their newest coworking space will operate from the burgeoning area of East Austin, catering to driven professionals who need a flexible workspace to further their careers and/or businesses.
After building its portfolio in New York – with three spaces in SoHo, Williamsburg and West Village – and in Nashville (Wedgewood Houston and South Gulch), The Malin representatives wanted to enter the Austin market and answer the demand for flexible workspaces from the area’s community of remote workers, which makes up for over a quarter of Austin’s total workforce.
Ciarán McGuigan, The Malin’s CEO and Founder, said: “We’re looking forward to serving the vibrant professional community of East Austin and beyond. As a resource for Austin’s workforce, our aim is to provide a workspace that is as dynamic as the multi-faceted city itself, supporting and inspiring their most ambitious professionals.”
The Malin East Austin spans over 12,000 square feet and includes 24 dedicated desks, 12 phone booths, ten private offices, four meeting rooms and even two libraries, on top of dedicated space for access members. The space will be located in a thriving and creative new neighborhood, in a modern building at 1515 E. Cesar Chavez St., boasting custom décor and luxury materials and amenities. The space was thoughtfully designed to foster collaboration and familiarity among members, while also providing quiet areas for deep focus and exceptional boardrooms for a variety of meetings.
The Malin is known for its support towards entrepreneurs, as their Nashville space works in partnership with the brand’s existing VC members on residency programs that help integrate up-and-coming startups into a thriving business ecosystem. This is achieved through special rates on team memberships, meeting room bookings and exclusive rates even after the program’s completion.
The rates at The Malin East Austin will begin at $50/day for Day Passes, going to $275/month for Access Members and up to $580/month for Dedicate Desk Members. Private offices will be priced according to the space’s square footage and include 24/7 access.
