Flex workspace operator Cubo has recently announced the opening of its very first space in London, after a rapid expansion throughout the UK. The company purchased a premier office space in Soho Estate’s reputable Ilona Rose House, W1.

The upcoming space will account for 18,819 sq. ft., taking the entirety of the building’s second floor, which was previously the site of Foyles Bookshop. Founded and operated by Marc and Rebecca Brough, Cubo was eyeing London for its expansion since July. The operator’s goal is to meet the increasing demand for flex workspaces from professionals looking for a single provider with spaces in multiple cities.

Situated barely 100 meters from Tottenham Court Road Station, Ilona Rose House is widely recognized as one of the most striking and iconic office buildings in downtown London.

Completed in May 2021, the 300,000 square foot scheme is the largest mixed-use development by Soho Estates to date. It includes 150,000 square feet of office space in addition to a public courtyard with 15,000 square feet set aside for restaurants and bars, as well as planted outdoor terraces for each office occupant.

In addition to Dawn Capital, Skyscanner, Planet Payment, and Warner Bros De Lane Lea’s post-production facility, Soho Estates also resides in the building.

Cubo’s CEO Marc Brough said: “During the time we have been expanding our UK locations, we have continually been pressed to clarify when we will be opening one of our award-winning sites in London. We have been waiting for the perfect building in the perfect location, and we are 100% satisfied and excited to have identified Ilona Rose House, just off Soho Square. This is a superb building with brilliant amenities that existing and new members will view as very much the best in class. A huge thank you to Phil Thompson and his amazing team at Soho Estates who have worked hard and fast and in a very collaborative way with our team to deliver a quick transaction during the month of August.”

Cubo recently acquired Ilona Rose House as part of its strategic expansion goals, increasing its total number of properties in the UK to 13. One of WeWork’s six regional locations in the UK was recently purchased by the business, which also took over three floors of No. 1 Spinningfields, one of Manchester’s most famous office buildings.

Cubo offers world-class environments for SMEs and digital enterprises so they can grow and prosper. In response to the evolving needs of businesses, the operator offers an experience-driven lifestyle package that includes customizable terms for hot desking, a dedicated desk, a private office, or a whole floor.

Large common areas, private rooms, breakout areas, kitchens, all-inclusive coffee services with beer on tap, and a schedule of complimentary networking events are among the perks offered to Cubo members.
